A vágyak szigete 2019. Love that old trope that getting hit on the head made you forget who you were, but hitting yourself again made you remember. TV gets it totally wrong again - head injuries don't work like that. Love this old show from my childhood. Made a remake.

Lorence was a pretty freaking weird character to add as a replacement of Tatooh. Any charm that the original series held will obviously not transfer to this remake. I had quite fallen in love with the series (overdone cheesy-ness and all), but I lost it at Season Eight. Mr Roarke was just a bit of a creep (and only sometimes wore his legendary white suit), there was too much repetition of people waking up in odd looking beds after an implied hookup, sad scenery, no Tatooh harassing the women (and no Tatooh in general), and a general lack in what gave the show life. I will not expect any miracle from this rendition, I will maybe watch it for a laugh, but I truly doubt that it will lead to some major reboot. I am a bit obsessed, as you may see, but I am curious to see how inexperienced Fantasy Island watchers will see it.
